After aproximately 2.5 hours drive from Bucharest, you reach Buzau county. Google maps is very accurate and you won't get lost even if it's your first troad trip to Buzau ;) The scenery is absolutely great and relaxing. When you get to the Volcanoes, you'll pay a small entrance fee (less than 10lei(౩€)/person). Once entered, be prepared to be amazed... More

Muddy volcanoes are one of the most beautiful places in Romania. The landscape is surreal and we felt like we've just landed on another planet. The volcanoes themselves are quite tiny - max 3 m, but the natural phenomena is extraordinary. All over the place you can see active and "dead" volcanoes, rifts, valleys, "mud rivers", etc. It is just... More

Great destination for one day trip with the family. There is a small hill to climb up to the volcanoes.

Is a very beautiful site, beware of the muddy explosions if there are any near the mouth of the volcanos. And the smell is not so great if you're close to them

The Berca Mud Volcanoes are a geological and botanical reservation located in Scorțoasa commune close to Berca in Buzău County in Romania. Its most spectacular feature is the mud volcanoes, small volcano-shaped structures typically a few metres high caused by the eruption of mud and natural gases.

We made it there at sunset and it was magical! It doesn't take long to look around, but it is definitely an interesting experience. I'm sure kids would have a lot of fun! No smoking and no touching the mud - it can be irritating for the skin!

Pâclele Mari (big volcanos) are an awesome place, but Pâclele Mici (the small ones)are much more impressive and not so crowded. Ticket is cheap, 3lei (0.80 euro cents). Enjoy the surroundings, the smell and the noise of the volcano's. You can get at this place only by car and nearby you have a restaurant with delicious and cheap food (payment... More

The view and the road till Vulcanii Noroiosi is so great. At the bottom of the Volcanoes they have a nice restaurant with fried meat, great fresh juices and cold beverages. See first Paclele Mici, they are prettier than Paclele Mari. It is around 2-4 km between them.
