We have been to Beach 69 several times now and it remains our beach of choice. There are a ton of trees that give plenty of shade to those like me with a tendency to burn rather than tan. The trees form dividing "rooms" of...More

We did not spend a lot of time here, just a park and walk. There are so many good beaches in Kohala and we only had 5 days. The $5 parking pass from Hapuna is good here so you do not have to pay twice....More

Gorgeous beach that we enjoyed fully all day. Great boogie boarding for all ages, nice sand and driftwood, shade from the trees, easy to access from the parking lot. Highly recommended.

This has been one of my favorite beaches for many, many years. Although the road is paved now, so many more people on the beach, but can always find a little quiet spot!

This is great little version of Hapuna. Super soft sand. Waves for swimming and boogie boarding. Even some good snorkeling to the north around the rocks. But for some reason when the crowds come to the beach they all go to the cove on the...More

This beach is perfect for little kids and was very busy over Thanksgiving break. Hapuna Beach is beautiful but can be too windy. This is the beach with ample shade, practically wind free, and on the north tip you'll find a perfect bit of sandy...More

We went a couple of days ago. The day was super windy and I was worried that it'd be hard to sit at the beach with sand blowing in our faces... but this beach was perfect! There were so many trees close to the beach...More

Park of Hapuna State Park, Waialea Beach is South of the main Beach. There are black rocks, many trees for shade, restrooms, showers and changing areas. It was nice to hear the crashing waves against the large rocks. There was an area with rope "swings"...More

We tried driving there Monday and had no luck getting there gem the GApS instructions. Is it the second entrance from the Hapuna Beach gate?
