An evocative journey of faith that begins with a visit to the beautiful basilica where the original icon is placed on the altar. The convent is attached to it and in the cloister, along the walls there are panels with the story of the discovery of the icon of the Madonna del Pozzo. There is an interesting ex-voto museum (free entry). In an adjacent room there is also a large Neapolitan-type nativity scene with light effects (night/day).
Once out, you walk along a long paved avenue to reach the original church, where the discovery well is located. You go down a series of steps (not accessible to disabled people) and enter the chapel. The well is closed, but you can get the water, which according to beliefs is miraculous, from the adjacent fountains. It is recommended that you be careful when picking it up.

Visited evening, beautiful architecture and summer evening mass in the cloister. Meeting point of the whole country, frequented until late evening. The very kind friars to tell the story of the sanctuary.

In Bari, you either walk in the narrow streets of the "city", find something to eat, do sightseeing, or you go to the beach. This basilica is a big attraction, a bit naked during summer, but I am pretty sure it is awesomely "dressed" for special occasions like christmas and easter. It is pretty from the outside, didn't check from the inside.
