Just back from a delightful stay in the Shepherds Hut in Glenwhan Gardens. Very tranquil setting and very much worthy of a visit. The tea room has light snacks and cake and is a must before leaving. The gardens are stunning with an abundance of...More

Superb gem of a garden set in 12 acres. This is a lesson in imaginative gardening and planting, with spectacular views of the South Rhins coastline.

Lovely gardens, massive potential for explosion of colour in main season. Tea room good for refreshment after walks.

This is a stunning garden which doesn’t fit into any of the usual categories. The rhododendrons will be stunning in a few weeks time; the topography is alluring; and the setting amazing. Mature trees and shrubs abound.

Most impressed with the garden and met the owner Tessa Knott in the tea room. The fact that it was developed from moorland about 40 years ago is really significant. It was full of lovely flowers and shrubs (and trees) in late August and I...More

Stumbled upon this whilst on Holiday, would love to come back in spring and summer but not likely to be back in this area again for a while. A lovely Garden in beautiful setting. Bet it took lots of hard work.

Sorry about the late answer. We are dog friendly the garden is in its winter coat in November. I would think the autumn is better for more colour, and of course the Spring, but we have an honesty box all the winter. Tessa
