We walked from Croyde to Putsborough beach. The tide was out and it was massive. We could've walked to Woolacombe but the tide was on it's way in. As the beach is a very gentle slope to the sea, as the tide was coming in....it seemed to speed up. There's a great little cafe on the stairs on your way... More

I am a regular visitor to North Devon. I visited the Putsborough Beech Cafe in the summer and was very disappointed at the amount of waste that was being generated by this cafe. Even though we ate in the cafe everything was served in disposable packaging - All the cups (non recyclable), the knives and forks the trays - It... More

After a harrowing drive along narrow roads with few passing places the beach was heaven. It hasn't changed in 30 years and the day parking fee (no matter how long you stay) is worth it. Everything is clean and perfect. The car park. The steep path down to the beach. The half way cafe. The waves and the sand. Don't... More

Lovely little cafe at the top of the steps up from Putsborough Sands. Basic food but all freshly cooked and very cheap. Very welcoming to children and to dogs which is great if you've just walked from Woolacombe and are cold and wet - no-one wants to leave the dog outside! The prices are VERY reasonable and the food is... More

Fab beach. Better than Woolacombe in my opinion - less crowded and less windy. Been going here for years and stay on the caravan site. It's clean, tidy, friendly, amazing views. You wake up to the sound of the surf. Easy walking to Croyde and Woolacombe. A fab place to get away from it all. There is parking and 3... More

This beach has everything you need for a great day out. It has a huge expanse of golden sand with rock pools at lower tide. The beach is spotless! Parking is £6 per car, no matter the length of visit. There are toilet facilities (award winning!). The beach is accessed down a slope and on the way down there's a... More

As other reviewers have said, on a fine summer's day this beach could compete with many we have seen around the world, and few could match the facilities- the loos are exceptional, what you would expect in a four star hotel. We thought we would take the kids for a run on the beach before lunch but were shocked to... More

Long stretch of beautiful sand backed by National Trust headland. Clean beach with good café and carpark with toilets. Surf ideal for body boarding. Lovely for children to play amongst the rocks or paddle in the sea. On a warm summer day you could be anywhere in the world.
