I recently visited Malmaison and was somewhat underwhelmed. The palace was smaller than I expected and not very interesting. It had the smallest gift shop I have ever seen and the attendants not very attentive.

This is a great historical Paris chateau to visit if only because it is much more quiet than others around Paris. It also displays wonderfully preserved interiors from Josephine's period as the wife of Napoleon. Even our kids enjoyed it!

Spent nice time with family visiting the castle. There is a beautiful garden outside. Worth to visit and spend few hours there.

If you like history (or you're an attorney, or military) this is very interesting. This is really more about Josephine, as she lived here more that he did. But you can learn a lot about Napoleon and what type of person he was. See the...More

Not Crowded, very easy to tour, filled with magnificent pieces of furniture, art, sculpture and accessories. Interesting to see how they lived back then and how the spaces were utilized. Very cool.

Go to La Defense and walk to the other end of the station toward the bus station. Take bus 258 out to Malmaison. Then you will have a short walk to the chateau. Estimating a littler over an hour to get there.

Hi Malmaison is a great place to visit and very much quieter than Versailles. Why not go to both!!
