The Kistefos Sculpture Park is great fun in dry weather at all times of the year. Children and adults alike enjoy examining the many and very varied exhibits and wandering round the park from the ring waterfall at the lowest point, right up to the sculptures at the top. The indoor art exhibition is changed from time to time and... More

Someone told me of this place and when I went to visit, I was really positively surprised. Usually I am not a frequent museum visitor, but was blown away by the sculptures in the park and the location of the museum itself. Worth visiting for adults and fun for children. There are things to do and see for every age,... More

This museum gives an interesting overview over the old wood pulp mill and the life of its workers, more information at kistefos.museum.no. There is also a fine sculpture park and different art exhibitions. I visited this summer with my son who wanted to see this years exhibition of photos of rock legends. It was warm summers day and we also... More

Check out this lovely spot in the middle of the woods! About an hour outside Oslo a man has created a sculpture park at his grandfather's former tree processing plant. Large outdoor sculptures by both American, European and Norwegian artists. There are also various art Exhibitions in old buildings.

Towards the end of our 12 weeks trip through Norway we also visited the Kistefos museum. This is an excellent combination of history of industry and art in a park environment. A great place to spend time - particularly with nice weather - to enjoy the various pieces of art in the open, the changing exhibitions in the old 'Art... More

I loved the place, the layout of the land and the fantastic art. The area is huge and there are surprise sculptures around every corner - even in the river. I especially liked a huge torso by the Colombian artist Bolero. Kistefos Museum is also a place that welcomes children. You are encouraged to touch some of the sculptures and... More

A big thanks to Christen Sveaas (owner) who made this museum and have collected all this art AND made it possible for public to see this. Highly recommend to visit for all who loves modern art and the silence in the park. Also interesting to see the old paper mill and read information of all the information how this mill... More

Who would have thought about bringing all these beautiful sculptures into the Norwegian woods? Nice place to stall around on a sunny day, with modern art and exhibitions. Oh, and very nice cakes to the coffee.

This old paper mill and sculpture park is worth a visit, especially on a nice day. The setting is very nice just by a river, almost canyon-like. We came here on a clear and sunny pre-autumn day and the sun was streaming through the leaves on the trees. The old mill is very interesting and the sculpture park has art... More
