Wow. A rock. With a plaque. The best thing about this attraction is that there aren't hordes of foreign tourists bursting out of buses to pose with this thing. Or, is the cost of admission the best thing? I'm not sure. In any case, read...More

This is a quiet beach an easy walk from the center of town. Stop and read the plaque. By cycling is fun too.

The rock itself isn't a huge attraction but of course you'll be seeing it as part of the lighthouse. The beach next to it (not visible in this Trip advisor photo) is covered with cairns made from those rocks.

This is a nice tribute on this historic site. Many of the names on this rock still exist on the island, and the views from here are stunning. Well worth a visit!

I was biking the island and stumbled upon Settler's Rock while getting a look at the Lighthouse. It is part of the Block Island National Wildlife Refuge. It was an interesting piece of history during a long hot ride.

I wouldn't go here just for the rock. But then I wouldn't want to miss it if I was headed To the North point or north light either. Good views here, all the way to the mainland. If you want to see the view or...More

For history buffs this is an important piece of the puzzle but not worth much more effort. As a part of understanding the area and visiting this part of the island it is something you really can't miss.

This spot is absolutely lovely. Ocean in one direction, pond in the other. Lots of bird, lots of waves, and the North Lighthouse in the distance. This is worth the trip. We got there via moped. It would be a long bike ride from town....More

This little rock is neat to see as it commemorates the initial settlers that lived on the island. It is easy to get to as it's literally located in the parking lot for the north lighthouse, so if you're visiting that, you might as well...More

Was a nice visit, great views all around. Made our little stack of rocks like everyone else. I believe you make a wish after you stack it. Did the same in Aruba. Nice beach to walk along, see the light house. Collected a few nice...More
