I went fishing with Captain Chris during the 4th of July week, and it was one of the best days fishing I have ever experienced. The fishing consisted of casting with light tackle spin gear at breaking striped bass. We landed over 10 stripers for the morning, mostly 28 - 36 inches. My friend who had never casted before, was... This was our second year fishing with Captain Chris Willi, each trip exceeded our expectations. I would recommend this charter for all levels of fisherman, Chris is especially great with novice and beginners and can easily accommodate expert anglers.

Chris is a consummate pro. He knows the area inside and out. Boat and gear in top condition. He is a relaxed and patient guide. Felt he was as excited about the fishing as we were! Would definitely do it again.

As a year round resident but new to the sport I knew from word of mouth the staff here would take care of me. I can honestly say I left there store satisfied, impressed, and well equipped. The island "fish guru" Hank very enthusiastically and patiently broke down everything I would need to start fishing for stripers. He also built... More

Awesome store with a lot of local intel. Was on BI for the week and killing the Albies but needed to have my reel re-spooled ASAP. No problem. The owner is a great guy who knows his stuff. They have a great supply of gear and no doubt stock whatever the fish are biting at that particular time.

You can't ask for a better captain than Chris. With a plethora of fishing-guide options to pick from on the island, it's hard to know where to look. You don't need to look any further if you've stumbled across Block Island Fishworks. When booking a guide, you want someone that's great to hang with and, most of all, can find... More

A well stocked shop with knowledgeable staff. Even if you don't fish, stop in for one of their iconic t-shirts. If you do fish, you will find out what the fish are biting, and if you want to CATCH fish, hire Capt Willi for a few hours at sunrise and he will put you right on top of them in... More

Block Island. Just the sound of it creates an instant image of our successful family summer vacations coupled with fishing memories so powerful that many have written books about this glorious island 13 miles from the mainland and it's sport fishing opportunities. In 1998 the Orvis shop on the Block closed when it's owner retired. I asked the proprietor "who... More
