This castle is surprising and most interesting since it has never been concurred nor destroyed, except for a fire that has harmed it, but has been fully restored. The guided tour which is mandatory if one wishes to visit is very disappointing, since the guide is rushing you through the site, with very little time to enjoy the scenes and... More

I've seen all of the most popular castles in Slovakia and this is my personal favorite. The tour is also nice but even if the castle isn't opened when you go to see it, it's still worth going. A very mystical and dreamy place in the middle of a mountainous part of Slovakia. The tour is also great if you... More

We were a group of 16. Ages 2 to 70. By far, this is the biggest and most interesting castle to travel with kids. Make sure uoy downliad the application (english) for the tour...due to the fact that the guides are native speakers.

Though we were there before start of the season and not all exhibitions were open, the tour took almost 2 hours. The guide was knowledgeable and well organized (it was Easter time and and groups were comming almost every 10mins). The castle is big with every part packed with interesting things to see focusing on various parts of history. It... More

Monumental castle on the hill in Oravský Podzámok village offers great views on the surrounding areas. Castle is really extensive, lots of thing to see and study there. The tour is restricted at the moment due some reconstructions but it took more than one hour anyway.

It was so beautiful, we didn't want to leave! A must-see if you're visiting Europe. The surroundings in Slovakia and Poland are beautiful beyond words!

We were in Zilina for a wedding and decided to do a small road trip to visit the castle. Glad we decided to go, as the drive was very scenic and the castle itself is grand and had great views of the surrounding area. The tour was good & they had an English version so that worked out. They also had audio... More

This castle held numerous movie recordings and is slowly being reconstructed. You can enjoy loong journey through the castle. Lady Karin Vlcakova was speaking nice and loud and a little mysteriously about the castle. Highly appreciated.

As a frequent visitor to the region I've been to Orava Castle a number of times. It's great for every weather, beautiful in snow, rain and shine. Situated on a steep rock, it's one of the most impressive castles I've ever been to. You must take a tour (in Slovak) to visit inside. But they provide English (and other languages)... More

We attended this castle in May when we had a rest in Zakopane resort. Just one hour trip there by car. I like this castle so much due to its nice location, beautiful views, well saved buildings and rooms, etc. Highly recommended to visit when you're in Slovakia or around Zakopane.
