I didn't knew ahead how big this reserve is and when I realized it' it was too late to give more time. I doubt that i'll see golden eagles and griffon vulture birds and we saw so many that I couldn't believe. Some of them...More

When in Caceres, Trujillo or Plasencia it's a real treat to see this national park with the Visitor's centre and two tours from there by car. We enjoyed especially the tour to the Castello, where a free bus shuttle brings you very close to the...More

The park's centre at Villareal de San Carlos can easily be reached over good roads from eg Plasencia. The visitors centre provides excellent maps and the trails from there are clearly marked. We took the red trail down to the river , 1 1/2 hours...More

I'm not really a birdwatcher - but I do appreciate that this is an outstanding place. Most of all I liked the salto del Gitano, where multiple "Buitres Leonados" are nesting, as well as black stork. Go there when the sun is warming (about 11...More

We never heard of it before until a friend recommended it to us when in the area. It is actually an amazing place, with a jaw-dropping scenery featuring river Tajo as the main actor. Ther are several outlooks where you can park your car and...More

It was our first time in the Monfrague National Park, we heard much about it but words cannot describe the feeling once you’re standing there. Around every street curve you can expect seeing and exploring new specious either birds, fauna,… One thing which we did...More

Must see if you are in the area. Amazing collection of eagles, vultures, stocks, kites. Masses of swifts. We were really lucky and also saw Red Deer. Lots of smaller birds like Black wheatears, warblers and Blue Rock Thrush. Total delight

We will be driving in a 7m motorhome. Are the roads through the park suitable for us? Will we be able to park up and go for a walk. We would like to do the two and half hour walk (green route I think) Thank you

The roads 'should' be ok but there are a few hairpin bends. I think you'll be fine though as we saw a few tour buses. Remember to walk up to the Castillo as the views up there are fab. We really didn't see clearly marked... More

There isn't a bus service. Perhaps a taxi would be willing to take you and wait around for a set fee. Alternatively there are lots of bird watching businesses that will provide transport and expert advice
