A beautiful place with priceless treasures and well worth a visit. You can only enter with a guide and the tour is only in Spanish, however everything is labelled in Spanish and English. Not recommended for people who have difficulty walking as there are lots...More

We stayed in the monastery on the recommendation of my parents. The Hospederia is excellent value for money and a truly unique experience. The monastery itself is dramatic and worth an explore. You can't go in without a tour guide and this is in Spanish....More

Pleasant enough with a few interesting things to view. However you have to go in a group of 50 people and receive a commentary in Spanish only. No photographs are allowed in any of the indoor areas.

The outside of the monastery and church were covered with scaffolding which was not on the buildings but in front of the steps as it was a temporary bullring! This was a bit off putting. The staff in the reception were going on and out...More

We enjoyed our visit to the Royal Monastery of Guadalupe. It should be said, though, that the only way to tour the sumptuous interior is on a 'guided visit' that is only offered in Spanish. As such, we should have done a bit more reading...More

A fascinating place, well worth a visit but not very friendly to tourists. The tour is entirely in Spanish with no allowances made for many different nationalities. I asked for a leaflet but was told I had to buy an expensive book if I wanted...More

The tour is only in Spanish - a pity! But there is plenty to see with many labels in English so it is worth it.

We visited yesterday. The Monastery is stunning. The town is really cute too and the monastery looms large over plaza mayor. The Church can be visited any time but the monastery requires guided tours and at certain times. Negatives: guided tour only in Spanish regardless...More

Columbus came here several times, as did Ferdinand and Isabella, so you're in good company. The picture collection is amazing, with more Zurbarans than enough, but also works by Rubens, Goya and Giordano.

I'm not sure, I went on one after Sunday mass (around noon, I think). Wonderful place, wonderful paintings.

I would say that you may rent-a-car in Seville but I strongly advise you to stay one night in Guadalupe as the round trip to Seville is more than 600 km and the monastery has fixed visit hours.
