I'm a sherry lover now

I have been to a vineyard before, but never to a one that makes sherry. I didn't know much of sherry before, besides that Frasier and Nigel love it. ;) We went to a guided tour... read more

After reading positive reviews about Sandeman I visited the website to find out what tours were available. English tours were at 11.30, 12.30 and 1.30. There was no facility to book and I had read elsewhere that you just needed to turn up at the appropriate time. I arrived at 11.15am and was told that there needs to be at... More

I had never before realized that there was so much difference between the different types of sherry. Our English-speaking guide was informative and knowledgeable. We ended our tour with a tasting of three very different sherries.

We booked a tour in English language. Finally a small group came together and we had a delightfully tour and tasting of Sandeman Sherry wine. Tour guide was great and answered all question. Tasting was of 3 different aged sherries. Highly recommended

I have been to a vineyard before, but never to a one that makes sherry. I didn't know much of sherry before, besides that Frasier and Nigel love it. ;) We went to a guided tour (in English), it took about 45 minutes or so. We learnt a lot of the journey of a grape from seed to bottle. This... More

I looked at several bodegas before going to Jerez and this seemed to have good write ups - it was also next to the riding school so decided to go for it. We just turned up and they put us on the next tour which was only about 10 mins to wait. The tour was very good - I have... More

After visiting the Fundacion Real Escuela Andaluza Del Arte Ecuestre next door, we decided to stop by the House of Sandeman where you can visit the production of sherry wines (Xeres). There are three different options to choose from, each one involving a sampling of various types of sherry that the house produces. We opted for the tour that offers... More

We chose Sandeman as a result of other TripAdvisor reviews as we wanted a flavour of what the process was all about without having to spend hours. This was just right. Our guide, Alicia, was friendly and certainly informative. We chose the premium tasting (the four vintage sherries) with tapas and it was most enjoyable.

We visited in mid October and I think they may have been weary after a long season. We had a perfectly good and very informative tour from a young Spanish man although the grounds are not as extensive as Fundador or Gonzalez Byass. There was the usual audio visual part explaining the history of the Bodega but there were no... More

We had the €15 tour & wine tasting. The 45 minute tour was very educational and the guide clearly knew her subject well. The 4 sherries included in the tasting were delicious. An excellent way to spend an hour and a half in Jerez.

The tours are wonderful and in quite a few languages. Our English guide was wonderful as she was able to answer all of my questions and also fill in a lot of the gaps of Sherry production. The tour went from history to production and the very serious ageing process of the solera system. The winery itself is a wonder to... More
