Photographs don't do this place justice. It's amazing that this exists surrounded by modern houses. Where it has been restored it has been done sympathetically and you could imagine yourself back in time and almost hear the audience and players. A very special place and the price of 12 euros each to visit this and the amphitheatre is very reasonable.... More

In the remains of the Roman Theater you could still see original marble pieces, and the acoustic is really good.

We visited the theatre on a cold and drizzly day but still it was fantastic. The front wall (behind what would have been the stage) is still partially intact and is very impressive.

Visiting the Roman Theater in Merida was a highlight of our trip to Spain. Our group of 11 collectively gasped as we walked into the amphitheater. It was breathtaking!

Great place and really well preserved. It is a magical place where you can feel part of the Roman Empire. It is the main reason to visit the city of Merida.

It is really amazing how this Roman building still so preserved and you can still see how it was. I loved the visit of the theatre and amphitheatre as well.

Stunning roman ruins. The museum next to it is a great piece of architecture and the exhibition bits really well presented.

It was very surprising to find this Roman Theatre so well preserved in a place little known to us. A visit to Merida is a must.
