Donauquelle is the point where one of the biggest European rivers comes to life- the great Danube (Donau, Dunav, Donava...known by its many names) in a circle surrounded by the zodiac circle. Here you can see each of the zodiac sign. Nice place, wont take...More

Well, this is only a place designated by Tiberius to be the origin of the longest river in Europe. We researched and found the actual spring about 40 kilometers away in Furwangen. A week wonderful spot in the Black Forest.

Charming landmark in beautiful surroundings. A worthy celebration of the starting point of a mythical river, so important to Europe and its history. Surrounded by a beautiful church and stylish park.

We went here to see the origin of the Danube, which turns out to not be the origin of the Danube:-) We walked around, clean, organised. The city is very clean, we sat in a coffee shop, enjoyed the sunlight. If you have nothing to...More

Though it is not a source of water dorectly from the mountains (that one is higher in Germany), the well is really nice and interesting to see as a part of the geographical culture. There is also an elevator to it (I believe 2 floors)....More

Throw a coin in the basin, and se what it will bring you. The source is framed by a nice balustrade and statues, it lies between the Schloss Fürstenberg with the lovely "royal" park and the great baroque cathedral

This is a fantastic place, the spring of Donau, the bigest river from Europe. Unfortunately for this amazing place are no street indicators, finding it quite difficult after a huge building.

Newly renovated spot, where the apparent source of the Danube is. Lovely area and good access - even with elevator.

The Donauquelle was a disappointing experience. First of all, it's not the real one. It's just a commercial place. When we went there, the park and the castle were closed, so we could not see anything besides the spring.
