Apart from the temples and Stupas which were very good, the Monastery has a very rich museum with Buddhist artifacts dating 6th-7th Century. A must visit during your visit

This is a must visit place along with your family if you are planning a trip to Leh!! There is also a museum inside which you can visit . There are a few items for sale inside which can be bought as a memorabilia .

Around 45 Kms from Leh enroute Manali or Nubra comes this very old and beautiful place. A 7 Km drive from the main road is an experience in itself. It hosts a Museum and Gompa (Temple) alongwith school. Peaceful place with superb paintinings.

Farthest of all monasteries..requires 1-2hr from leh..best of all monasteries.. idol of buddha is there unlike thiksey..less no of stairs to climb..has a restaurant within..

Do visit the museum @ hemis gonpa , the monasteries are really beautiful and magical . This place is totally peaceful and relaxing , also good for some photography . Positive vibes all around this place .

Hemis Monastery is famous worldwide as it forms the central piece of Naropa festival. As like other monasteries, this is built in typical Buddhist style architecture. Dress modestly when you visit. No mention of such in the museum and the distance of thousands of miles fro Palestine makes it highly unlikely...
