You can take a train till Katpadi jn and from Vellore you have continuous buses to Thiruvannamalai.

You can stay at hotels just opposite to temple or head to yogi ram surat kumar ashram for a decent room of 500₹ Alternatively email to ramana ashram for a beautiful stay at their ashram with food
