Lepakshi, in the neighboring state of Andhra Pradesh, is easily accessible from Bangalore. The beautiful Veerabhadraswamy Temple and India’s largest monolithic granite Nandi (a bearlike creature) make for a great day-trip option.

This place is around 100 KM drive from Bangalore just off the Bangalore _ Hyderabad highway. The place is full of heritage and you need to have a local guide to get the right concept rights. There is a story behind every pillar every painting and every sculpture in the temple and you need to have a guide to explain... More

Lepakshi is situated about 130 km away from Bengaluru. It makes a perfect destination for a half day trip. The road condition is really good. One can see architecture from 15th century. The place has mythical influences from Ramayana and quite a rich history from the era of the Vijayanagara empire. You will be lost in the intricate architecture of... More

Lepakshi is a temple which is 135km from Bangalore towards the North. This is an ideal place if you want to go on a half day road trip without it being too hectic. We started at around 8 in the morning from Bangalore. Had breakfast at Kamath restaurant which is half way, and reached the place at around 10.45. Finding... More

The place is located in Andhra Pradesh and is 100 odd Kms from Bengaluru. It takes about upwards of 2 hours to reach the place from Bengaluru by own car. A diversion from the Bengaluru Hyderabad highway leads to this place, however, the diversion is not very easily identifiable. The village of Lepakshi is well known for examples of ancient... More

Nothing special about this place. Temple is not clean. If you have seen Belur,Halebedu or even Bhogha Nandeeshwara near Nandi Hills, architecture of this temple won't impress. It looks like incomplete work. Nandi statue also not great. if you want to see great Nandi statue then please visit Nandi statue in Chamundi hills near Mysore. Parking for Car is bit congested.... The temple and surroundings resemble the true indian ancient scriptures art and the technology in constructing the temple. It's not a place to rush through. You should be able to notice the art that is depicted on the ceiling of the temple. Temple and lepakshi are generally crowded on weekends, but if you plan to reach early you could finish... More

Engineering and Architecture marvelous and that to 550 years ago. Roof Painting, 3D Painting, Sculptures engraved from Stone , Sita's Foot, Hanging pillar, Blood Stains and uncountable wonders inside the temple.Dedicated to lord Veerabhadra . You can see SHIVALINGA of Ramayan era. Less crowded and clean. You can easily spend time sitting inside the temple, the silence and breeze flowing... More
