We visited this botanical garden on a sunny Sunday. Kids were most impresed by the huge playground, dinosaurs and butterflies exhibition. Apart from vast meadows, numerous different flowers and trees, it is also worth to visit orchids and cactus exhibition. In a small cafe one can relax and refresh. Will for sure return soon.

Ljubljana Botanical Gardens are lovely. About 30kilometre drive from Ljubljana centre. Big enough but not too big, taking about 85 hectars and has about 3500 different plants. Birds and fish on top of that. They have different themes in the gardens. I was sorry we didn`t get to see the tulips (they bloom in spring, April-May`ish) but some of the... More

This is a nice tree park (it’s very large), but it’s short of flowers; it is definitely not a botanical garden; it’s so big, you’ll end doing lots of walking; we found the lack of good signage very frustrating; you get a handout map but it's still difficult navigating such a large park; there are no directional signs at walking... Not far from Ljubljana and well signed with free car park. Formerly a landscaped park, now an extensive arboretum with formal gardens, lakes and woodland walks, children's play area and small café in grounds. Free shuttle "petit train" from entrance to main areas of interest. Not for rainy days, but good to wander around and for picnics.

My husband and I spent a half day here, a bit of a drive outside Ljubljana. The formal entry with a tree and begonia-lined walk was a good introduction. Caught in a rainstorm, we were able to find quick shelter. After the rain, we walked through the rose garden, the indoors cacti, butterfly and orchid exhibits, the maze, the formal... More

What a fantastic place! Park offers a variety of beautiful flowers, exhibition of moving dinosaurs, cartoon characters made of straw, outstanding flower and stone decorations and many other things! This is absolutely the right place to bring your family or your partner! Little tourist train, live animals, so many dinosaurs and so many children playgrounds ... all the children we... More

The places is really beautiful, and has a great variety of plants. The park is big enough for the crowds to spread around. You can have a peaceful walk, or spend time with the kids on all the rides.

Well worth a visit, this is park is family friendly and yet peaceful. It has a good balance of cultivated gardens and a wilder side. Beautifully kept and maintained, it was a relaxing place to spend our last few hours in Slovenia before heading for the airport and home.
