We went on a rainy day and we weren't too keen seeing on the battlements and other outside areas, so this is really about the inside bits. The place obviously has very good potential but is let down by poor curation. The leaflet they give you does not include a plan; the plans in the castle are based on a... More

Got in town early to check in to the hotel and was recommended to go to the Fortress. Ended up there for a few hours. Lots to see and explore. Great view of the city, the river, and the mountains. Lots of detail depicting torture used in Medieval times and serves as a remainder that torture still occurs today. There... More

As nearly all the other reviews mention few exhibits are in english but still we both enjoyed the visit and hearing the organ at 12pm. If you use untappd the fortress sells bottles of its own beer in the shop!

We visited the fortress with our friend. We enjoyed a lot walking on top, the view was impressive. However, the highlight was on the way out sitting and listening to the wonderful organ.

Very interesting and well maintained fortress, well documented and quite different, since it was a prison mainly. The orgel concert at midday is spectacular!!!

Perhaps chose the wrong time of year to visit, between Christmas and New Year! Was nice enough and a beautiful sight at sunset, but not enough going on inside to hold our interest for long.

Visited this historic fortress yesterday. The walk up is very steep but most use the funicular railway which is very unnerving for someone scared of heights like me. Look up during the ascent and descent and you'll feel better. The fortress itself is ancient and steeped in history. There is a quaint restaurant and spectacular views across the valley. Most... Well kept Fortress, some great exhibits from the different time periods and wars. If you have time pass by.
