This is a new (July 2016) visitor centre at the fascinating wetland centre. Excellent birdwatching opportunities, absorbing interpretation (flap your wings like a bird) and high quality modern, sustainable architecture. Well done.

visited during the xmas holidays for the first time the new Zwin. very good "museum" part quite expensive entrance and parking reception personel should be more friendly you should visit with a guide (during the weekends) the restaurant was very badly organised, apparently not enough personel to clean the tables, food was ok

We had taken the tram, as traffic at the Belgian coast is quite a problem. When we arrived at het Zwin, we saw a statue of the one who created this place: Graaf Leon Lippens. There were a lot of information booths about how to take care of nature, as well as information about birds and animals. My highlight was... More

It was years since I last visited the Zwin (a large bird reserve outside of Knokke):it has undergone a complete make-over. A new modern visitor's centre with interactive explanations. Each visitor receives a bird passport wich you use to interact with the different screens. Four languages (NL,FR,GB and German). There were not so many birds in the reserve itself but... More

Haven't been to the Zwin for years and it totally changed. The new entrance building hosts a great multimedia experience on birds, how they fly, what dangers they encounter, ... However the entrance price is rather pricy for a nature park.

Extremely disappointed. Last 2 or more years major redevelopment. Result is terrible. Old charming atmosphere totally gone. Most of the trees gone. Charming old restaurant gone!, replaced by large cafeteria with zero atmosphere resembling a motorway canteen. No photos, nothing on the walls. Very expensive and not even possible to buy a snack bar or bar of any sort to... More

I didn't like this park at all, we didn't see any special birds. Entrance is 12 € and we had to pay an additional 6 € for 40 min parking... Not worth the visit in my opinion. It was a pretty park but also pretty boring...

For me 'Het Zwin' has lost a lot of it's old charm. The new entrance/visitor centre is nicely done, including the removal of the old birdcages. The charming little restaurant (with good food) has been replaced by something that's better suited as a highway reststop. We ate in a very loud place with lousy service for the money, on top... The renovation of the visitor centre is a success. The existing bird cages have been replaced by an interactive exposition room and by bird watching towers turning the visit into a lively experience.

I've been here years ago and the park has been transformed. The pros: brand new energy efficient building which houses the reception but also a hall with digital and audio visual exhibits which were very informative about the migrating birds that visit/stay in this reservation. Outside: several observation huts, some equipped with telescopes so you could spot and admire birds... More
