Just got there in time before the gates closed. Large curtain wall with several towers, we thought it looked impressive.

Ostrožac castle can be considered as one of the most beautiful and historically most important castles in Bosnia and Herzegovina. External parts of the castle, especially its strong fences, are very well preserved and they give the impression of a very beautiful castle. Unfortunately, partial destruction of internal parts of the castle, due to consequnces of war and ignorance of... More

This castle is maybe one of the most beautiful in Bosnia with walls, towers and great view on the riover Una. Need big renovation , after that it will be good turistic atraction. Historic value is great , but in not good shape..

Built in 13th century, Ostrozac castle survived the Ottoman empire, the Austria-Hungarian ruling and the modern time. Every time it changed its owner, it got little bit modified, but its beauty stayed. Ostrozac castle offers a main mansion, another two towers and the walls around it. The courtyard is filled with many different sculptures that create the open gallery. We... More

The Castle Ostrožac is a breathtaking monument. Some say that parts of it were build 450 BC, but there are certainly parts from 11th century and on, marking Roman Empire, Ottoman Empire finishing with marvelous building from Austria-Hungarian time.

I visited Ostrožac castle in the afternoon of Thursday, 14th August, 2014. I was most certainly impressed! Ostrožac castle is located right next to the village of Ostrožac, which is nestled among picturesque hills and canyons between the towns of Bihać and Cazin in the region of Bosanska Krajina, or north-western Bosnia and Herzegovina. I drove to Ostrožac castle taking... More

My imagination was captured from the first photograph I saw of Ostrozac Castle (pronounced Ostroshats) and I was determined to visit this intriguing-looking castle perched high on a hill above the River Una, not far from Cazin and Bihac. (And actually only a 2 1/2 hour drive from Zagreb) It was only 9.30am when I arrived in front of the... More

I would just like to add to other reviews that while its a great castle, set in a stunning location, it's a pity that the inside of the castle has been badly treated over the years, it left us feeling quite sad that people could be so thoughtless in their actions. I would have given it 5 stars otherwise.
