Koh Samui never fails to impress all its guests with another beach nestled in peace and privacy. The picture perfect beach has got what it takes to make it a good beach: glittering water, gold hued sand, shallow water coral reefs, big tree shades, beachfront restaurants with no hawkers to disturb you.Visited March 2020Travelled with friendsWritten 11 March 2020
- faeriehazelSeoul, South Korea137 contributionsNice but crowdedThis beach is best appreciated before noon. It's relatively quiet then. Compared to Maenam or Lamai the water is gentle and clear and the sand is soft (though there is a strip of dead coral and gravel at the edge of the water). Our two year old absolutely loved playing here. The drawback is that it does get crowded quickly. And if you're really unlucky you'll have to share the beach with ignorant people blasting loud music and generally being a nuisance. On the other hand it's great for people watching.Visited January 2020Travelled with familyWritten 29 January 2020
- Jeff206Samut Prakan, Thailand610 contributionsA Beautiful Afternoon To My Day TripAs a final curtain in my day trip, made sure I’d stop by a beach in the afternoon so I could relax and enjoy the sun and water. This beach was one I specifically checked on this website to determine which beach may be the best to enjoy. It did not disappoint! Free entry and since I was there in December, it wasn’t too hot, but still fully enjoyable. The beach is located just before all these bungalows set right near the shore and they were quite cool and I imagine, quite nice to stay in of you want to be right on the beachfront! Anyways, you can actually go out quite far and the water doesn’t get deep. Not a lot of people there, and it was the perfect place to just relax, enjoy, and burn off a nice afternoon after what was already a beautiful day trip to different sites around the island!Visited December 2020Written 16 April 2021

Nice sand so good for lie and sunbathe and it’s very pretty to look at the beach however there are so many huge rocks and coral reef everywhere under the water right from the shoreline. You can’t really swim as you would probably gash yourself.
May be good if you like snorkelling however most of the coral looked dead and beige in colour some fish but not loads. I prefer to swim in deeper clear water without rocks so this is not it.
There is a very nice beach bar and restaurant at the right end, If you buy a drink they’ll let you use their pool and loungers.

This beach has the potential to be amazing. But the day we visitedit, it was just sad to see. Rubbish in heaps across the beach that the sea had washed in. We tried to clean up a bit and used the bags we had, but none of the employees at the hotels seemed to want to accept what we collected. There were a lot of waves today, which made the suply of new rubbish extra large. The water was therefore also very cloudy and not clear as we had seen in the pictures. So if you want to visit this place, I would advise you to check in advance whether there are few waves and whether the beach has been cleaned. As it was today, I would advise against visiting it.
Apart from the garbage problem, I would say it was a very nice beach for children, as it was not too deep and the sand is fine-grained.

Picturesque area with clear waters and fine sands. The waters are absolutely gorgeous in colors, especially on clear sunny days. Both beautiful place to go for photos and for chillaxing.

I came to Thong Takian to kill two days on a beach before I started a photo assignment on the island. All I wanted was a simple, clean room with a comfortable bed and a nice beach to decompress on after a long flight from London. Thong Takian nailed it. The staff are super friendly, the beach is wonderful and the little beachside restaurant was perfect. The coffee is amazing, even by my well traveled and snobby standards. Oh, the Thai food is good too. One thing I wouldn’t recommend is the sausages for breakfast. It’s one of those countries that just doesn’t do sausages or bacon properly.
I would definitely come back here. Hopefully with more time and a stunning woman.

Went this afternoon. Very crowded and no possibility of snorkelling, the visibility was awful. Sea was full of huge patches of seaweed. Nice soft sand though. We gave up and walked to somewhere near Le Meridien. Beach was lovely.

I was quite disappointed with the whole “Maldives of Thailand” beach - the sand is white and soft but going into the water is very painful and difficult. It also goes very deep very fast so not suitable for children. There was a slight breeze every day, which we quite enjoyed. And the color of the water is beautiful. But all in all it’s a very crowded beach.

I have been bitten by a fish in Thailand last year but it wasn't in Koh Samui; it was on the Andaman coast. It was a horrible experience, because I didn't expect this tiny little fish going after me and biting me. and I was so shocked that I had to find my way out of the water, and so I slipped on some rocks and I was bleeding all over the palm of my hands, my knees and on top of that the fish bite itself. It almost ruined my vacation. LOL I've seen sharks and barracudas while snorkeling in the water but never did they bother to chase me. I've heard of trigger fish biting snorkelers and divers, but rarely ordinary fish. And that sees who chased me and bite me was an ordinary small fish who was swimming in very shallow Waters.

We are heading to ko samui in august and wondered if silver beach is the best resort to stay at. We would like to be able to snorkel off the beach
stay in a quiet location
And can easily walk to markets or places to eat
We stayed in kho lak last year and it ticked all the boxes apart from snorkelling
Thank you

you really need to get on a boat and visit the islands. generally there is no good off-beach snorkelling in Koh Samui. same goes for Kao Lak - you need to go to the Similan or Surin islands.

Is it wheelchair accessible or vehicle accessible.
Tom_from_CB

Your best bet for Wheelchair access would be via Rock Salt Restaurant at Crystal Bay Yacht Club. There will be only one step to deal with to the beach there.
