Well worth it. Get there at 1:30 in time for the display at 2pm. This is so informative and incredible to see a falcon in action. We even got to have a turn with the glove and enjoy Hisan on our hand! You can also...More

Wingspan is quite a small bird of prey museum/aviary/rescue centre. In saying that you get to view the birds fairly close in the aviary and they are really beautiful creatures! I would definitely recommend timing your visit with the flying show at 2pm (which they...More

This operation enables the continued work of a team of dedicated and passionate specialists, to save some of NZs endangered birds of prey. The karearea or NZ falcon is the main focus, there being fewer of these remaining than kiwi. Wingspan puts on daily demonstrations...More

Spend a couple of hours at the worthwhile facility. Basicly running on the smell of an oily rag, this organization does a wonderful job rehabilitating & re-settling New Zealand Falcons. There is a small, but interesting, museum. Make sure you are there at 2 o'clock,...More

This centre is playing an important role in the protection of our NZ falcons, and in educating the public about them. They have some great display aviaries, where you can see falcons, harrier hawks, moreporks and barn owls, and a small museum about falcons and...More

A good show that shows what the NZ hawk can do in the wild. They are help out injured hawks and release back into the wind when possible. Take your own food with you as food is n/a at location. Worth a visit.

We really enjoyed our visit and learnt a lot. Our kids had a great time and very much enjoyed the display, they also got to hold the falcon on their arm. Excellent center doing great work for endangered species.
