If you are driving along the A1 motorway between Madrid and Burgos when you arrive at Aranda de Duero it might be worth taking the N122 towards Soria. After only 20 km you will come to this wonderful monastery in the middle of nowhere. This medieval monastery has been carefully restored and conserved by the Agustinian order since they were... This is one of the most amazing monasteries I have ever visited or stayed in! You would never imagine that such a jewel is hidden in such a small village. I strongly recommend visiting the monastery, attending mass in its church, etc. It's also a very nice and quiet place to stay (don't expect luxury conditions, but it's a really... More

The day we went the tour was only in Spanish so we understood very little. It was still very interesting and beautiful and the price was inexpensive. The only other couple on the tour would interpret a few of the highlights for us which we appreciated. Hotel El Lagar de Isilla is located next door with great accommodations, prices, and... More

This was next to our hotel so we went to look but unfortunately it was closed. However, it is beautiful and the grounds are nice to walk around. Check out the birds etc in the cages around the back - ducks, chickens, peacocks etc. worth a visit.

It was a casual visit, we didn't expect to find so valuable remains in this unknokwn Monastery. The Father explained us every single detail during the tour. We were delighted. It's highly recommended to visit Santa Maria De la Vid Monastery.

We took a walk here since our hotel was virtually next door. The gardens are in a sad state of neglect. However, we did not book a tour of the building, so I can't say anything about the interior.

The guide tour takes around 45 minutes, you visit the cloister, the church and a small museum. There are some remnants of the the Romanesque monastery.
