13 november (sunday) it was the most scenic drive in our weeklong tuscan stay getting to this winery. it was also one of the most beautiful castellos we had come across. unfortunately, all that buildup went to the can upon encountering the rude lady managing the wine tasting. 1) when we asked if it was possible to tour the winery,... This was a wonderful stop on our visit to Tuscany! We came here for a wine tour and private lunch and it could not have been more fabulous -- please know we did have reservations, because others who stopped in were turned away. Our guide was wonderful. His English was perfect -- and he toured us around the vineyards, the... More

My partner and I were keen to visit a real chianti winery, so we called in on the off chance. We had arrived too late to join a tour, so instead we were sent to another building for wine tasting. There was a young lady in charge, who had attitude! We were offered white, red and grappa for €10.00 per... More

Our guide stopped at Castello d'Albola for a tasting and short tour, we were impressed with the reds and have continued to get hem since we have been there. In addition the winery has connections with another in Virginia (Barboursville that we have made a point of stopping at recently.

Visit lasted just over 2 hours. It was very informative but dragged slightly due to a large tour group (with 4 nationalities and children!?). The tour visits the vineyard, barrels and then culminates in the reception for a tasting of 4/5 wines. The wines are nice but the portions are a bit stingy :) Good value for 10 Euros all... More

Visited here on an organised tour from the Norcenni Girasole campsite near Figline Valdarno while the rest of my family chilled out for the day. After a short coach ride we arrived at the beautiful location for one of the largest vineyards in Tuscany. We had a great tour with a very informative lady and then tested some great wines... More

Castello d'Albola is a drop dead gorgeous winery near Radda. It is in the Chianti district of Tuscany. The winery tour is relatively short, but the tasting is generous. The wine is very good, particularly the Chianti Classico Reserva. Prices for the wine are reasonable if you carry them away. Shipping back to the States makes them not such a... More

Castello d'Albola winery tour was the best tour during our 1,5 weeks stay in Chianti. Our guide was excellent and very professional. 2 hour tour included vineyards, cellars and tasting. So the whole process. Very good also for people like myself who already know quite a bit about wine making. The tasting was also excellent. We tasted 6-7 different products... More

We were shown around by a very knowledgeable guide first through a vineyard, then the production facility and finally the ageing and storage area. In the cellar there were wines dating back to the 50s by now almost certainly undrinkable but, it did mean you can probably find a bottle from your birth year (unless of course you're reasonably well... The gentleman who provided the tour was outstanding. He walked through the entire process, from sowing, growing, harvesting, pressing, to the final product. And the grounds are unimaginably beautiful. We tasted three wines, I believe. None were especially remarkable.
