Please don't buy stuff around the square. These vendors at the collectivo are sometimes, really artists, and others are just honest people trying to make a living. I know foot traffic will really pick up when the Chedraui supermarket is finished, but many of the...More

Great place to pick up souvenirs. Checked out all the little shops. Bought a coconut carved into a humming bird. Asked if shop owner made it and he got excited and took us out back to see his work shed. Lots of raw coconuts and...More

While wandering around Puerto Morelos it may surprise you to find so much shopping and so many artisans at work on their craft. There are some quite unique finds. We watched a gentleman carving lamp shades, several people embroidering and weaving bags. It really was...More

Nice souvenirs and handicrafts. Our girls bought a few things that they couldn't resist. There is some haggling involved, as usual, but the people are friendly.

We were suggested to take a taxi to PM for the restaurants and the town but were disappointed. Wouldn't do it again, too small not anything we could see to do. Did eat at the Pelicanos and it was very good.

Note that this stretch of shaded shops is NOT the same as the "flea market" also listed here on TA. We came looking for Mayan handicrafts. Unique were woodcarvings, some jewelry, and "jellyfish" lamps. (English-speaking) Gabriel has a space exclusively devoted to wall art made...More

Excellence Riviera Cancun provided a free cab ride to the village of Puerto Morelos to do a two hour shopping and sightseeing walk-around. It was nice to see the work of local artisans and to talk with the people in town. There are crafts people...More
