We loved these Ruins. It was less touristy and off the beaten path. The grounds were nice and we enjoyed walking around. We parked across the street and walked in. The cost was low and they had clean restrooms. The giant lizards were basking in...More

Small ruins that were within walking distance of our hotel, Villa Del Palmar (if you're willing to walk 45 minutes in the heat). The benefit to them being small and not well known is that it's you, the docent at the front and a frighteningly...More

These ruins are not nearly as advertised as Chichen Itza or Tulum, but are wonderful nonetheless. The main temple is well preserved, much better than Tulum. No crowds and very inexpensive.

First time at any Mayan ruins, and without traveling for hours to other larger sites and losing a day at the beach, we went locally to El Meco. Although small, it is great to visit the site where 1500 years ago this town was built...More

While only about 30 feet high, this is an impressive pyramid and it also has some well preserved civic and religious structures preserved around an ancient plaza. Two different periods of construction.

I just checked the distance and it's not. I'd recommend taking the white or blue vans that run up and down the straight street, as they would only charge 7 pesos and the taxis overcharge when you don't get them through your... More

I think it was about 40 pesos - about 5.00 seems right.
