I've found Quebec's national parks to be ideal for family trips up from New England, in good part because of the Huttopia tents you can rent, which combine aspects of a cabin with a tent, and also because I find Quebec to be a very interesting and vast place to explore. We had a wonderful time here. My wife, our five-year-old son and I stayed in a Huttopia, which is a fully-furnished tent, and great for families. All you need to provide is your food and sleeping bags. We also canoe-camped to the Balbuzard Island which was amazing, although you'll need full camping gear (tent platform on site, reservation required). They... More

Drove to Frontenac a couple of weeks ago to go kayaking. The park, like so many other national parks, is beautiful! It seems to be well-kept, and staff were friendly. Didn't quite know what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised. We were shown around the hotel which is steeped in lots of history, by a young lady dressed in costume as if she were a maid working there many decades ago. She was extremely knowledgeable and answered our many questions very easily. The tour was about an hour to hour... More
