I visited Szymbark (The Centre for Education and Regional Promotion) last week while I was staying with a family in northern Poland. The place was really packed - I do think I was the only non-Polish tourist even though there were some explanations of photos, etc. in English. This really is a hodge-podge of things based on wood, in my... More

I have read the other reviews and I would say definitely go to this place. It is a strange experience a bit of everything inside. The best bits were 1. Buying great bread and watching it being baked 2. Traditional restaurant with tradition museum 3. The various memorials to the kashubian people was very interesting but not enough in English... We went with family, it was fantastic, well worth the visit, the house was amazing, we got there early, and went in straight away with no queue, by the time we came out, a huge queue, so visit house as soon as you get there. We went around the war memorial, it was very respectful, at the time of or... More

Nice day out with family. Interesting history related attractions and nice buildings. The upside down house is really cool. The site is very well maintained. The homemade beer is gorgeous so as the sausage which you grilling yourself at the restaurant.

Unfortunately this place is impossible to get to without a car but I was able to go with a Polish friend. This place's function was hard to pin down: half museum, half hotel and restaurant, with recreational activities such as zip cording and a few animals such as deer. There were 2-3 restaurants serving traditional Polish food, an upside down... More

This is a nice outdoor museum-cum-history class; it shows many highlights from Polish history. Beware of the upside-down house, though, as not many people leave it without a feeling of nausea and a headache.

Basically a fun collection of things relating to the company Danmar (producing houses) and/or to Kashubian history. The Worlds longets plank, the upside-down house (really fun), a model bunker of the kashubian resistance army, history of kashubians that emigrated, some deer that you can hand feed and also good food.

Nice to know I've seen the worlds longest plank. Exactly what you expect, worth a look if in the area. The upside down house is pretty trippy though. We had to queue for a long time and it was a hot day. There is plenty of food and delicious local Polish beer around though so as long as you aren't... More
