As a history teacher, I am keen to visit anywhere that has a bit of history involved! When I went here, I was not disappointed. The museum is free to enter and follows the journey that Britain and its people went through from the late...More

This modern environment showcases Britain’s imperial and military history and its place in the contemporary world. Visit this place if you look forward to being bombed with fascinating information and treasures from our past. Definitely a must-see for any Briton.

First visit and I quite enjoyed it. Being American, it was interesting to see war through the British point of view. The exhibits were cool and the movie that played on the walls was informative.

Great to have such a museum up north - makes a change that you don't have to go to London - really great for all ages and very well presented.

Friendly and helpful staff, great facilities, tasty food, wonderful exhibits. Brought a French Exchange group here and it was an ideal stop off. All free, with a suggested donation well deserved and plenty of money spent in the café and shop.
