More
The St George Shipwreck Museum tells the story of the dramatic shipwrecks off the coast of West Jutland and the people’s encounters with seamen from all over the world. Severe storms, mist and sea fog, unpredictable ocean currents, changeable depths and no islands to offer shelter have led to thousands of shipwrecks along the West Coast. Embark on a journey in a world full of dramas, tragedies, love and heroism. Children have free admission to the Museum, which also houses an outdoor maritime playground and its own cafe and restaurant. We look forward to seeing you.

This is a lovely museum dealing primarily with shipwrecks of which there wer very many off this coast. The displays are very imaginatively presented. It is a small museum and well worth a visit

The shear size of the the St. George is brought to life by its rudder 4 floors tall hanging in a tower of this brilliant new museum. Architecturally a pearl that allows you underwater as well as high above it to watch the waves of...More

So nice to see this museum after the upgrade to a modern and interactive experience - good for both younger kids (5-10), teenagers (14-18) and grownups - everything in both Danish, English and German.

Never been to the museum before but had heard that it had been remodelled and worthwhile seeing. We were not disappointed. Indeed we think that the presentation was quite appropriate; not too much information nor too little. And well done with many interesting exhibits. We...More

The reck is named Sct Georg - an old english warship found by divers from Delfinen - a divingclub in Holstebro, Denmark. When found, diver Gert Norman made it possible to get the wreck out of the water.

Very interesting and you really feel the history. The exhibition is very well arranged both for children and adults. Among other things there is a "submarine", where you can feel how it was to be under water in a small room.
