A great beach, something for everyone - golden sand, rock pools, views, cafes close by and, just round the corner, a view all the way to Reculver and the setting sun.

Great walk today in sunshine. Beach so clean despite recent storms and calm sea. Looking forward to summer x

A sandy bay with the best sunsets for hundreds of kilometres or miles. Save swimming as there are little or no currents. At high tide you can walk along the promenade for miles. Margate and the Turner Contemporary are within 45 minutes walk.

A great beach for swimming as the beach shelves gently. If the weather is north east very good for bird watching

A tidal sandy beach with a sloping shallow sea. Weather is more often than not warmer and sunnier than surrounding area. Nearby cafe is a real must see. A fabulous family day out.

A lovely little beach with a couple of shops, cafe and public toilets. Very flat and sandy for mile which means the water does not get deep for a long way out which is perfect for young children. Rocky are for crab hunting!!! There are also life guards present which is also a bonus considering the latest incidents happing on... More

Despite being lined with houses and a road, this beach and the surrounding beach huts and café has a wonderfully relaxed feel about it. It feels like it has barely changed in 40 years. In summer the sea often seems considerably warmer than other parts of the Kent coast - probably due to the very shallow gradient of the beach... More
