We visited in March, so the castle was still closed for the season, but it was still worth the trip from Brno. Can recommend the steep "park" outside the main gate.

It is a marvelous place. The castle of Tolkien's stories. The best journey is to walk up to the castle from the parking lot or take a small-gauge train (yuck). Anyway, must see.

Since it was New Year's Day the castle was closed for visiting. Yet, we've been impressed by it's external shape and majesty. Definitely will come back to see it in it's full grandeur!

Very nice old castle. It is not suitable for small children, it is uphill and also road are what you expect from Middle Age. Specially during eastern there are some special attractions which is good.

Quite a climb to this castle, up a steep path from the parking lot to the castle, then many stairs into the castle and then many stairs in the castle including some winding ones without handrails. Easy to see why this castle was successfully defended....More
