Visited Eden Gardens after an investiture at Government House. We stopped in briefly for a bite to eat at the café with family. Lovely surroundings with inside and outdoor seating and tables. Food great and nicely presented. Also reasonably priced. A lovely spot for a wander around the gardens. Just a note that it is $8.00 admission for adults into... More

A large garden in a former quarry but not most of the flora and fauna are not labelled. Also not very well maintained compared to other similar attractions.

I'm not a big fan of gardens but the visit to Eden Garden was enjoyable. It's a well maintained and beautiful garden. There is a cafeteria inside offering lunch, coffee and drinks. The adjacent and free Mount Eden offers much better views but it is the garden you visit this place for.

Got a deal on Grab One for entry to the gardens and a hot drink per person at the cafe. Great we thought, meet there for brunch and then have a stroll around the gardens. Wrong! Got there for 10.30am really ready for something to eat only to be told by the café that they no longer did breakfasts. Seriously!!... More

I expected a big garden, but it is not, so it is not a lot of walking, if you dont like, but it is definitely worth visiting. Big variety of native New Zealand trees and flowers, small waterfall, on the top very nice view over the city.

We had lunch here and then toured the garden. The garden was beautiful. Such a delight. The food was as bad as the garden was good. As a vegetarian, I had the vegetable frittata. It was bland and not worth eating. I am thankful that it was accompanied by a small salad, a little fruit, and some bite sized desserts.... More

I went to Eden Memorial Gardens to find my grandmother, without much hope as she died 10 years previously. The ladies on the counter were so helpful going straight on to the computer, finding her spot and marking it on the map. Imagine my delight when I actually found her memorial! Unfortunately her shrub had died so they explained the... More

I was expecting to find a small and interesting garden on different levels up and down an old quarry site. It is that with meandering paths. It is quiet, leafy and green. It is inadequately signposted with a very small sign attached to a lampost that could easily be fixed. What I wasn't prepared for were all the memorials to... More

A small but perfectly formed hidden garden - a lovely retreat from the city, nice cafe & shop too.Accessible by public transport & could be combined with a visit to Mount Eden itself.

This is a lovely little garden with beautiful examples of the native plants and flowers. There is also a lovely view of the harbor from the top of the garden as well as a lovely little cafe.
