Beautiful during spring, but hardly a tourist location as it is a university campus. It has some good cafes like Gods for short stop bys.

Chosen as I wanted to be able to walk to Floriade and Lake Burley Griffen. Queen bed room with lounge and bathroom and view over extensive grounds was comfortable and clean, very 60's. No frills, but good enough for a few days of exploration around Canberra. Basic fridge, kettle and tea/coffee facility. Wardrobe/storage OK. Reception was also "no frills" but adequate.... More

The ANU has a massive campus that is worth driving around for a look. Some of the buildings are quite unusual or have a significant history like the 1938 School of Arts building. Walking around I felt some of the passion that exists here. Parking can be a challenge in some areas so we went back on the week end... More

Having visited this before we went again but was disappointed. They had an interesting movie playing on the 2006 winter Olympics but on our previous visit it had been a well put together doco on Aussie movies and TV. I don't know if they still do this on other days but there was also another theaterette playing some movie on... More

I stopped by to see a friend at the School of Music - and had lunch there in the cafe. This was great - great atmosphere, good risotto, and comfortable - with a view. There was a schools outing and millions of little kids were there - I think they saw a concert - and whatever they saw they loved... More

the ANU campus is close to the city centre, and for those interested in tertiary campus design, is well worth a visit.

Breath deep and maybe you will gain a little more brain power, if you don't, it is still an excellent place to chillax. Many great buildings dotted around the campus that really shows what the architecture styles were along the decades. Being so close to the botanical gardens, acres of bushland and fee food from the students the bird life... More

Visited the ANU to pick up some info for the current Yr 12 teenager, the campus extends across Acton (1.45 kms) and has a pharmacy, subway, grocery store, post office and bike store to name but a few. Well worth a look if you have some time to spare, don't come in the back way though as this is not... More

Very nice campus, extremely large. Nice for a walk through on a sunny day. Not much else to do but still pretty relaxing and quaint!
