This place is amazing, great walkways as well as children's playground. Fantastic place for a BBQ or picnic. In summer its lovely and shady and great for a paddle. The lookout for the dam is very interesting.

Have been visiting Cotter reserve for many years in many different ways. We used to take the kids out for BBQs and to paddle in the steams when they were small, then we continued heading out that way for family get togethers once they left...More

We were visiting Canberra not many camping options in town. Cotter was perfect, just out of town has all the facilities you need including hot water. Lots of wildlife, gorgeous location to wake up to of a morning.

Such a fabulous place to enjoy walks & swim in the cool, clear river. Very interesting and informative with detailed pictures & stories about the building of the old & new dam. Something for everyone! A family favourite and wonderful place to take visitors.

Ample parking, great facilities and an abundance of open space (with plenty of shade) means Cotter remains a Canberra favourite. The new Cotter Dam is a sight to behold but for the kids it's a tight competition between the clear, flowing river and the fantastic...More
