I had booked a table for 30 people at the Argyle on Friday to celebrate a Colleagues leaving the firm... It soon turned out that the door staff were happy to admit anyone in the team who were a) male and b) white. Unfortunately for the bar staff at this venue, our firm is rather more diverse than this and... More

Beautiful place. That's all. Long time to be served. One hour for a burger and a quesadilla and not very good. Racommanded only for a drink or maybe for dancing later.

This place is great, good beer and great pizza. This place looks like it hosts a great night too. Lots of seating inside and out, in a cute area in the rocks.

30 degrees plus out side.... cold beer.....shade and plenty of people around long tables made for a fun afternoon drinking outside at The Argyle courtyard.

Great music, crowds and environment, right in the heart of Sydney. If you are in the land down under on a weekend, and looking to party, this is the place to go. A short walk from Circular Quay, The Rocks is a must destination when in Syedney. Cheers

8:00pm arrived for celebratory drinks with a group of 10 and sat in a quieter corner, only there for 10 minutes when a hostess told us we 'have to move you can't sit here, these younger people beside you want your spot". This means we did move, to a different pub and took our fat top shelf drinking wallets to... More

AUS$30 entrance fee. No drinks or food included in the price. Venue offered standard Australian bar scene: open, airy, pop/dance music, sitting areas, dance floor, newly met couples on top of each in the corner before midnight. No real atmosphere to speak of for the price commanded. Dance floors and outside areas were not empty but not far off, made... More

I recall being here just once before some 3 years ago with friends for drinks. Today was just for a pint of James Squire.....As such, am unable to comment on the quality of the food. Live music is available probably in the evenings - I was there with just a few other patrons and service was obviously not an issue.... More

Paid $30 to go into an empty night club at 8.45pm. No free drink on entry, no particular dj playing. A big rip off and will not go back. Would not have gone in if it wasnt for a friends birthday.

Staying in The Rocks

Neighbourhood Profile
The Rocks
The first residents of the Rocks were convicts and sailors from the old nation. As the oldest neighbourhood in the city, the area's cobblestone streets host more than 100 heritage sites and buildings, including the oldest house in Sydney, Camden Cottage, which was built in 1816. Taste a “midi “ or a “schooner” of beer and dine “al fresco” on the waterfront at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney. The weekend markets at the Rocks are where you can find local artists' hand-made souvenirs, organic food and designer jewelry in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. To enjoy some of the best Australian and international contemporary art, the MCA museum is open every day and select evenings. At the end of a long day of sightseeing, be sure to save energy to dance the night away at the area's many late night entertainment venues.
