If you have a love of art, just go there, it is like an adult artists candy store. We want there and it had nearly everything and artist could possibly want, from frames to rare colours. Very much worth a visit.

I took some visiting friends here the other day, as we were exploring the Rocks. They are artists and picked up some stuff that they hadn't been able to find at their local art shop. They hadn't been intending to shop for that sort of stuff, but couldn't help themselves. They rated it highly.

You know by the intoxicating smell as soon as you walk in that this is an artists retreat. We come to Parkers just to wander around and admire the incredible range of artist's supplies. From hand made papers to easels, brushes, oils, pastels, pencils, sculpture supplies, it is a wonderland of all things art. I love this place. It's in... More

Seldom does a ship dock near to good art supplies but in Sydney it does. Just 5 minutes from the Overseas Passenger Terminal in Circular Quay, Parkers has the greatest assortment of good quality art supplies, paints, brushes, fine papers, and travel wc kits and journals for the traveler. Just walk up Argyle Street about 2 blocks and you will... More

Staying in The Rocks

Neighbourhood Profile
The Rocks
The first residents of the Rocks were convicts and sailors from the old nation. As the oldest neighbourhood in the city, the area's cobblestone streets host more than 100 heritage sites and buildings, including the oldest house in Sydney, Camden Cottage, which was built in 1816. Taste a “midi “ or a “schooner” of beer and dine “al fresco” on the waterfront at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney. The weekend markets at the Rocks are where you can find local artists' hand-made souvenirs, organic food and designer jewelry in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. To enjoy some of the best Australian and international contemporary art, the MCA museum is open every day and select evenings. At the end of a long day of sightseeing, be sure to save energy to dance the night away at the area's many late night entertainment venues.
