A rather stunning church inside to sit in the peace either in prayer or in thought. I would have enjoyed it more but for the organ tuner doing his thing. The sound was terrible! Off key scales, ouch.

St Mary's Cathedral is a beautiful building in a wonderful, natural setting. It's internal, structural beauty, stained glass windows and fine, architectural detail need time to be absorbed. They have regular daily masses and the coral choir at 5:30pm service truly lift one's spirit.

Great cathedral across the street from Hyde Park (you can pop in after walking through the park). It doesn't compare to cathedrals in Europe, but it is great nevertheless. I think you can walk through it all in less then 30 minutes.

The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with
energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise
buildings and after-work drink places, high-end
shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners
frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a
dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit
the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle,
reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens

Free, though some people might leave a small donation, knowing that all churches accept donations. The Sunday tour is also free.
