This is a fantastic place to spend few hours relaxing with the ocean view and dreaming to be on one of the luxury yachts anchored in the Marina. It is also very romantic and there is a lot to see around there. We will strongly suggest a visit to this place if you are around Sydney area.

Our family has been visiting Darling Harbour over the years and it has been providing a lot of fun times and good memories from watching the fireworks, going around the ferris wheel, eating in the many restaurants dotting the area, watching a movie at the Imax theatre and a concert at the Sydney Entertainment Centre (RIP), shopping at Harbourside, enjoying... If you are staying nearby this is a great morning walk. If you are looking for attention actions you have ferries, the aquarium, restaurants, shops, and the Chinese gardens, but even just a stroll over the bridge is peaceful and relaxing.

Great place to find the restaurant / bar of your liking...get a bottle of wine or a few tinnies and chill and watch everyone else. Boats are coming in and going out all the time and there are lots of "sights" to see e.g. stag/hen party groups, lots of excitable overseas visitors!!!

Nice day out. Pretty close to Town Hall station. Looks quite a distance on the map. But actually quite close to walk. About a ten minute walk. Less than one kilometre. Walking there and back from CBD is not too bad. But walking around it can be tiring. There is also a light rail from Central Station to here. But... More

Its kind of a shopping mall beside a harbour. worth walking through but I would not recommend staying around unless you were going to get some food. There is a military ship museum near by and that might give you some extra attraction to look at. The best attribute of darling harbour is that you can catch the ferry to... More

Darling harbour is a very nice spot to visit especially with kids. We stays in the area when we visited Sydney, this nice location was our daily stop to pass by as he kids can play and enjoy a safe run/walk as well as we (parents) also enjoyed the location and attractions.

Staying in Darling Harbour

Neighbourhood Profile
Darling Harbour
The original docklands of Darling Harbour have been transformed into a tourist mecca with entertainment for the whole family. Cockle Bay Wharf offers dining options from budget to upscale and million dollar views of the harbour. Young crowds gather on weekends for nightlife that ranges from salsa clubs to Dj’s. Families can visit the Chinese Gardens of Friendship or the Sydney Aquarium, one of the largest in the world. The Sydney Maritime Museum and the IMAX theatre are also popular attractions. The Harbourside Shopping Centre is a site unto itself, with hundreds of shops, restaurants and bars. On Saturdays in the summer, the city puts on a spectacular fireworks show along the harbour's shore and there are plenty of other free events during the year - Darling Harbour Fiesta, VIVID’s light installations and the Sydney Festival, just to name a few.
