It would be a great place to bring your sweetheart, your grandchildren, children. It's beautiful a piece of paradise in the city.

It is some forty+ years since I walked through these gardens and they are even better than I remember them in my romantic interlude days of youth. The birdlife is stunning but the grounds are so immaculate that they exude peace and you need to just sit and take it all in. There are heaps of seats and great walkways.... More

The pathways are nicely done. The park is well kept. If you're at the Sydney Opera house anyway, just walk up the stairs to begin your tour of the Botanic Gardens. We saw a couple of exotic birds along our walk. If you're able, continue your walk past the Sydney Library...go in for a rest...then continue walking through to the... More

I had been to the Royal Botanical Gardens during a previous trip to Sydney and in fact had played flute for a wedding there. It has definitely been my favorite place to visit while in Sydney, so when I returned there with my son recently, I brought him to see it. First I showed Julian a few of my favorite... More

This is another great free, public space in Sydney. Its a great respite from the hustle and bustle of the city, and a great space for kids to run around. It's well worth a visit. You can spend hours or minutes - whatever you have time for.

A "must do" visit when in Sydney. Simply beautiful, clean and interesting gardens. The birdlife is stunning and the range of bushes and trees all beautifully kept are wonderful.

An afternoon sauntering through the gardens was a lovely gentle time. Lots to see from parrots in the trees, eels in the pond!

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
