Safe bathing for small kids from a sandy beach . Good swimmers can enjoy swim out along narrow outlet to the sea. Both sides of inlet are concreted where people lie down to sunbath . There is a cafe and toilets here. During busy times there is lifrguard cover . Only drawback for Clovelly is the limited parking

This beach is a good place to get a tan, swim or snorkel. Bue to the entries like a pool the acces to the water is pretty simple. If you snorkel you get to see a lot of different fish.

Clovelly's little protected cove is an ideal area for swimmers of all competences and preferences. From the swells of the area out towards the sea, to the nice currents of the mid-section, to shallow rock areas and the beach itself, it has three sides to accommodate crowds - two sides with rock and smooth platforms and also the beach. It... More

Be prepared to shout even when the place seems empty! A busy pub with enormous dining spaces inside and out. Basic choices of fried foods, steaks, chips etc. Good salads. Not bad but will be interested in how new owners develop this place - it is currently balancing the needs of local boozer, live music joint and food destination. Less... More

Perfect protected swimming beach for all ages and abilities. There is a natural opening to the Sea here that has no surf (even when it's rough you can get to the ocean without breakers) There is a sand beach with wheelchair accessible swimming. A concrete pool and plenty of space to picnic at tables , kids play area or concrete... More

Clovelly beach is a small bay with a sandy beach and can be found whilst doing the Coogee to Bondi coastal walk. It has all the facilities you need including toilets and a cafe.It has a safe area for swimming due to the concrete structure on both sides of the bay. It is a quieter area to sunbathe and swim... My sister .and I were brought up within walking distance of this terrific family friendly beach. We learnt to swim and gain confidence in the sometime rough waters. Usually it was like a mill pond, going into the water from the Prom and swimming back to the sand beach area. Lots of happy times exploring the old -late 1800s early... More

Staying in Coogee

Neighbourhood Profile
Coogee
Very accessible by public transport, Coogee is the smaller, friendlier, more intimate version of Bondi Beach. Coogee is the only beach in the Eastern suburbs that does not have big waves, making it an excellent family beach. The Coogee Bay Hotel, located right across the beach, has one of the biggest beer gardens in Australia and plenty of entertainment every night of the week. Be on the lookout for celebrity footballers! A little further south is Wylie’s Baths, offering sweeping 180 degree views over the Pacific Ocean, and it is perfect for a swim or a few laps. Plenty of dining choices surround the beach, including the famous fish and chips.
