The memorial is under renovation during my visit (April 2017). This memorial is to signify the involvement of Australian Army Force in WW1 and WW2. There are countries or area names where they were involved on the walls inside the memorial. If you have questions,...More

Was not able to really visit this memorial as the lower section was closed off due to planned renovations

Built in art deco style, this memorial provides a space to reflect on the sacrifices of generations past. It isn't, and doesn't try to be, a hands-on interactive experience to appeal to younger families. We were glad we found it, and spent 15 minutes there.

We visited the War Memorial just a few days before Anzac Day. Made it special to understand what the Memorial represents and the sacrifices made by the Australian and New Zealand military.

A good place to relax. It looks safe during the day but I am not sure about at night. During our visit it was being renovated getting ready for the memorial I think?

Throughout Australia, we were very impressed with the memorials erected to honour those who were killed in service to their country. This structure is no exception; it is a beautiful tribute, from the carved figures on the outside of the building, to the peaceful area...More

If you enjoy history or would like to pay your respects, be sure to visit the memorial. It's near several other sites and is easily accessible. There were one or two people there to answer questions. This is a very nice memorial.

The Anzac War Memorial is in the Hyde Park gardens between the Cathedral and the city so it is easy to reach. Its very moving as you would expect and worth paying your respects.

The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with
energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise
buildings and after-work drink places, high-end
shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners
frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a
dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit
the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle,
reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens
