Green space in the heart of the city

A lovely place to wander on an afternoon, paths, grass and huge native trees, and a cafe/restaurant to sit and while away some time over a cup of delicious coffee.

Hyde Park is a great way to just get away from the hustle and bustle of the city for a while. If the weather is hot then there's plenty of nice shady spots to sit under the big beautiful trees. I actually think they should install more seats there, so you may miss out on a seat at busy times.... More

Hyde Park was definitely one of the highlights of my Sydney trip. There is lots of greenery, places to walk and relax and is popular amongst locals and tourists. When we went, there was a huge family Christmas event happening as well. The park is located close to Museum station on one end and St James station on the other... More

Hyde Park in Sydney is a very nice oasis in the center of a very bustling business district. Just walking around is pleasant and the many trees that line the park throughout provide plenty of shade and there are lots of benches scattered about so you can sit an enjoy a rest or a take-away lunch. You'll find many people... More

Beautiful park and gardens in a great part of the city. Take the time to walk around the whole park, and find a quiet spot to sit and take in the views. Best time is early morning with the sun coming over St Mary's Cathedral.

This is a beautiful area within the Sydney city region and coming up to Christmas it has been delightfully decorated and is offering many Christmas concerts, displays and great artists throughout the park. Its beautiful to just sit and read a book, to people watch and just rest. Its a beautiful walk all throughout the park and a place well... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
