We are so lucky to live within walking distance from Enoggera Reservoir. Surrounded by the bush, the reservior provides a cool retreat from the summer heat. The main entrance - known as "The Beach side" - is along a short track via Walkabout Creek Visitor Centre there are other less known and tracked entrances along the opposite side too. The... More

Walkabout Creek is a fabulous place to take small children. Lots of animals in the wildlife centre and a very reasonable admission fee, platypus and sugar glider feeding and helpful, knowledgeable staff make for a great day out. The distances are not huge so no problem for miss 2 and master 5. On a hot day you can take a... More

I love Walkabout Creek, Recently it has seen some improvements and I love now that Enoggera reservoir is open to swimming and kayaking, there is a lovely lake walk and during the week it is very peaceful and quiet. But it is a great place to take kids and if you have never seen a platypus in the wild, this... More

Not too expensive and lots of native animals. Staff are great and good easy walks for young children. There are also picnic spots and a nice cafe too.

Decided to drop in for a picnic lunch on a glorious Brisbane spring day & clearly so had many others. The car parks were busy, cars out on the road but once we found some grass near the dam to sit it was fantastic. People on the lake kayaking, paddle boarding swimming or just having fun. Many people bushwalking around... More

Beautiful setting in Native Bushland. We saw bush turkeys, Goannas, Kookaburra & turtles. Great spot to take kids for swimming & playing. Would benefit from having Bbq.

This was once a lovely little place to visit and enjoy nature. Not now. Too busy. Noisy. Lost its charm. Wonder who makes decisions as to how this place runs? No way I'd want to have my wedding here. Imagine all the noise from people riding bikes, swimming.... Ok to visit. Not so great for the local animals and people.

Spent the morning here with my grand daughter. It is a natural Aussie nature reserve. There are a few tracks and trails ranging from short leisurely strolls along the water edge to a 5km walk past hoop pines along the Enoggera Reservoir. The Hillside track from the Information centre is a wheelchair-assisted and stroller-friendly track. There is a Wildlife Centre... More

Been coming here for years - it's changed a whole lot & lost lots of its magic & charm. Why...they've gone absolutely crazy putting in bike tracks for younger kids & extra pathways just so people can carry kayaks/canoes from their cars down to the water. Where there was 1 path now there's 3 side by side - its crazy.... More
