Having travelled to Brisbane quite often we were running out of things to see around the city. We saw a pamphlet on the Toowong Cemetery so we decided to have a walk. We got an uber which didn't cost much from the city and asked to go to the highest point. We spent several hours walkin down the hill through... More

This cemetery is so old but well looked after, if you like that kind of thing you could easily spend the whole day here and its right next door to the Mt Cootha Botanical Gardens.

Great historic adventure. Spooky yet incredible. On a bit of a slope but many graves to read and stories that seem To jump out of your head whilst there. Known to be haunted. I'm not sure about that but it was an experience for sure.

Don't waste your time going. If you are a historical buff you are wasting your time. Tombstone reading is at best difficult and often impossible. Limited shade and water.

We drove to the top of the hill to the big monuments and they are very interesting. There are plaques in place explaining who the people were and careers. They are mostly premiers, governors and historical folks from Brisbane. Huge cemetery with over 120,000 people. It is also a great help to read the website which goes into detail of... More

We attended a recent guided tour through Toowong Cemetery, conducted by the Friends of the Cemetery group. The tour stopped at the graves of many of Brisbane's historic figures, was well researched and conducted. We found it fascinating, and we highly recommend it

If like me you like exploring cemeteries and looking for interesting people and gravestones, then Toowong is awesome. Its one of the biggest I've seen and there is such a variety of headstones. Its so big that the access roads all have street names! I didn't take much of a look around as we were there for one purpose only,... More

Firstly, a 5 year old child would be the only one who would have had any kind of reaction to this tour. I will dot point summarise for you: - What information was provided about the 'residents' of Toowong cemetery was great, but the story surrounding them was a load of bullcrap. One story referred to a 'vampire' who supposedly... More

The staff at the cemetery were wonderful and were happy to take the time to copy information relating to various gravesites I was searching for. Great place to wander and learn a little about the history of Brisbane. The only downside was not being able to walk through some areas due to lack of maintenance (grass being mowed etc)
