The Brisbane River is perfect for adventure, leisure and recreation. Go kayaking, stand up paddleboarding or take a trip on a City Cat. Celebrate the Brisbane River at a Riverfire function or just have a picnic in the riverside parkland. The Kangaroo Point Cliffs are a great vantage point to see the Brisbane River, or go rock climbing or abseiling with Riverlife Adventure Centre. Try Story Bridge Adventure climb, cycle, rollerblade or go for a jog. Dance with the local aboriginal tribe, Mirrabooka or visit South Bank. However you look at it you can't visit Brisbane without experiencing the River. Then cruise out to Tangalooma Island Resort for a must do experience. Enjoy!

There are lots of relaxing walking options along the river. I prefer the Southbank side as you then also get wonderful city views and there are a lot of cafes to stop into. Great for an early or evening stroll.

Take a free City Hopper ferry, or one of the City Cat public transport ferries, and get a really great view of the city of Brisbane.

See the river up close, walk from CBD to Kangaroo Point. Meander through Southbank, and enjoy the scenery and lovely views. Brisbane has done a great job with facilities along the rive

The Brisbane river meandering through the heart of the city provides a wonderful way to relax without too much effort. Lunch and dinner cruises, water taxis and even jet skiing so close to work mean you could potentially sneak a half day off work and have a great time without going to far or busting your budget. I recently did... More

Take a City Cat Ferry stopping along the Brisbane River, passing Kangaroo Cliffs, Brisbane Botanical gardens, Southbank Parklands, Maritime museum and much more. If in Brisbane must view from the Brisbane River to enjoy some great Brisbane landmarks.

I have today been up the river on one of the ferries. There is also a free Brisbane council free City Hooper Service. All the services are very frequent. Despite the colour of the water which is normal for Australia there is much to look at and enjoy when cruising up the river. Certainly worth a round trip if you... More

There's never short of scenic spots for you to take a nice pic or enjoy the lovely breeze along the winding Brisbane River night or day. Many good place to visit on both sides of the river. Make use of the paid or free water taxis.

Brisbane river has one of the best water transport services going with large and small public transport vessels. Whether just doing a cruise from one end to another or using as a water taxi like we did - great way to travel and cheap too. Staff friendly and facilities clean.

My business trip first stop Brisbane. Free entertainment, hop into a City hopper ferry cruising the Brisbane river. The free transportation brought you from Eagle Pier, Thornton Street, Maritime Museum, North Quay .. and more stops. Connected commercial and tourism together. Not much happening in the CBD on Sunday though time for relax.

In all her varying moods, the Brisbane River is truly the heart of this beautiful, world-class city. However you choose to enjoy it, whether on an iconic City Cat, from one of the many cafes in South Bank, strolling along the pathways below the magnificent Kangaroo Point cliffs, or from one of the high rise buildings which offer wonderful views...
