The Brisbane River is perfect for adventure, leisure and recreation. Go kayaking, stand up paddleboarding or take a trip on a City Cat. Celebrate the Brisbane River at a Riverfire function or just have a picnic in the riverside parkland. The Kangaroo Point Cliffs are a great vantage point to see the Brisbane River, or go rock climbing or abseiling with Riverlife Adventure Centre. Try Story Bridge Adventure climb, cycle, rollerblade or go for a jog. Dance with the local aboriginal tribe, Mirrabooka or visit South Bank. However you look at it you can't visit Brisbane without experiencing the River. Then cruise out to Tangalooma Island Resort for a must do experience. Enjoy!

The Brisbane River can be accessed at most places around the CBD / Southbank areas. There are easy access walkways with no steep declines etc. The CBD can be seen from many angles, either from the CBD side itself, Southbank, and Kangaroo Point side. The new river walk path from the north end of the Story Bridge to Newfarm is... More

We filled in a couple of days just walking around this beautiful river. We stopped and ate at some wonderful restaurants and cafes that surround the river. Lovely way to spend a day. We love to walk as you see more.

When we had my family over for a holiday from Europe, we went with them on a Brisbane River Cruise.( City cat) Hopped on at St Lucia, and went all the way to Bretts Wharf. It is a fairly long trip, but on the way there are lots of spots to hop off. If you buy the book about the... More

It was a very pleasant cruise on this small boat. Really appreciated the free morning tea. All staff were friendly and the commentary was most informative regarding local landmarks and history.

Brisbane rates as a great place to visit with fantastic facilities in the city (Town Hall Museum) and South Bank (Arts and Museum Precinct as well as the Beach) however a visit wouldn't be complete without a scenic trip on the River Cat. We always take our visitors for a ride and they love it!

A relaxing stroll along the river. You can walk all the way from Southbank past the story bridge. Heaps of places to eat and stop and have a drink along the way.

With the river snaking it's way through the outer, city centre and pouring into the Bay, there is a lot to see and do. With the expanded walkways through the CBD you regularly see cyclists, joggers and tourists enjoying the surrounds. The river itself pulses with regular city cat ferries, city hopper ferries, barges, tugs and pleasure craft. You will... More
