Overview
More
'Wait-a-While Rainforest Tours' specialises in small group day and night rainforest wildlife tours. It is magical to be involved in seeing a wild animal unrestricted in its natural environment in the rainforest. We often see platypus, birds, possums, tree kangaroos, insects, frogs, owls, reptiles, various invertebrates and other animals on our tours. As a lot of Australian rainforest animals are nocturnal, a night element and spotlighting is included with a knowledgeable, enthusiastic guide.

Thanks for the feedback. I remember your tour and I do apologise for my abruptness. It has already been reported to me and I realised my attitude had slipped so I am sorry. Also that day we were crunched for time so my driving speed...More

Starts mid afternoon and runs into the night so good opportunity to see daytime and night time wildlife. Incredibly knowledgeable guide and fabulous variety of plants, animals and birds. We spotted plenty despite it being both cool and wet. Platypus, tree kangaroo, green ringtail, leaf-tailed...More

Really cool walking around and learning about the rain forest. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and was able to keep the conversation interesting the entire time. Either through sharing his knowledge, or answering peoples questions. We particularly enjoyed the night tour part. You walk...More

Cheers Ryan, I will take ranked second to the GBR as huge compliment! Sorry if I came across as abrasive. I try and cajole people along as often I spot something and they miss it, sometimes we only get one chance to see the rare...More

Paul is a great guide, knowledgable, very professional and focused on showing as many animals as he can. You are guaranteed to go to nice forests and lakes and see a lot of wildflife. Atherton Tablelands is an area that not many Cairns tourists go...More

Hey Christophe thanks for the review. Sorry for making it feel rushed. I was trying to make sure we had daylight left to look for platypus. Your feedback is noted.

My wife and I took the wildlife tour and it was one of our favorite activities of our Australian trip. Our guide Tapio (sp?) was a research biologist who clearly cared deeply about the environment and was unbelievably knowledgeable about the tropical ecosystem. While everyone...More

Tapio is a fountain of knowledge and it's nice to see you appreciated it but he is staying here! I am glad you enjoyed the tour and thanks for the recommendation.

If you've got the choice between this tour and one of the Daintree day tours then pick the wait a while tour - there is no comparison. Our guide was Tapio, he was incredibly knowledgeable about every aspect of the wildlife, and we even had...More
