The Cairns Botanic Gardens are a tropical paradise where you can explore the beauty of tropical plants, relax in stunning surroundings and learn about tropical flora and horticulture. The Gardens are open from 7.30Am to 5.30Pm every day of the year and entry is free. The Botanic Gardens includes several spaces used for demonstrating the diverse plant life that can be found within a tropical climate. the gardens are lovely but the mosquitoes are ridiculous. tried and failed to do a geocaching activity due to lack of preparedness re insects.

If you have already been to the reef and have a few hours to spare, a visit to this tropical paradise is well worth it. We spent 3 hours in the aboriginal section and on the boardwalks in the main garden. You can't see any...More

Such a great place to walk around for a few hours. Lovely feature with the butterflies in the Atrium. The cafe provides snacks, cakes and coffee.

A big thank you to Regional Council of Cairns. What a gem, these gardens are. It is a place, that will not disappoint any gardener. We did all the walks in the areas. Absolutely super day out

We started off our walk Early as we knew it was going to be warm ... Gardens are Beautiful and very well kept there is walkways all around which is handy Few mosquitos about Take bottle of Water & Nibblies to eat Excellent day out

Well worth a visit excellent range of plants and trees. Beautiful layout walking trails and excellent signage. Learn a lot about wet tropics plants.

The Botanical Gardens is a beautiful place to wander around for a few hours. The atrium with the Orchids and butterflies is great. Theres also a café which serves very good coffee. Breakfast and cakes here are always nice. Don't forget the bug spray!

Loved the Botanic Gardens. There were venders everywhere. Not sure if this is a common thing. There was entertainment. The rainforest was great and it was free. Had a great day here

You can ride to it, & walk up the red arrow (hill) but not in the actual gardens.
